Privacy Policy

1. Overview

TapPrompt ("we", "us", "our", or "the app") is a prompt management and AI image generation application for iOS, developed and operated by TapPrompt. This privacy policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have regarding your data.

By using TapPrompt, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is created and stored entirely on your device. We do not have access to this data unless you explicitly use features that transmit it (such as AI features).

• Prompts and Templates — The text prompts, templates, slot configurations, and tags you create within the app.
• Generated Images — Images generated through AI features are saved locally in the app's image history.
• App Preferences — Your settings, selected providers, model preferences, language settings, and UI customizations.
• API Keys — If you use the "Bring Your Own API Key" feature, your keys are stored securely in the device's system keychain. We never transmit or have access to these keys.

2.2 Data Synced via iCloud

If you enable iCloud sync, the following data is synchronized across your Apple devices through Apple's CloudKit framework:

• Prompts, templates, slots, and tags
• App settings and preferences

This data is protected by Apple's end-to-end encryption. We cannot read, access, or decrypt your iCloud-synced data. For details, see Apple's Privacy Policy.

2.3 Data Collected by Our Servers

When you use TapPrompt's built-in AI features (available to Plus and Pro subscribers), our backend server processes your requests. During this process:

• Authentication token — A token identifying your subscription tier is sent to verify your access level and track usage quotas.
• Prompt text — Your prompt text is forwarded to the selected AI provider for processing.
• Images — For image-to-text features, your uploaded image is forwarded to the selected vision AI provider.

We do not store your prompt text or images on our servers. Data is forwarded to the AI provider in real-time and discarded after the response is returned to you. We retain only anonymous usage counts (e.g., "user used 3 image generation credits") for quota enforcement.

2.4 Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information.
• We do not use analytics SDKs or third-party tracking services.
• We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data.
• We do not serve advertisements or share data with advertisers.

3. Third-Party AI Services

TapPrompt integrates with multiple third-party AI services. When you use AI features, your prompt text or images are sent to external servers for processing. The specific provider depends on the model you select.

3.1 Built-in AI Services

When using TapPrompt's built-in AI (Plus/Pro subscription), your data is routed through our server to the following providers:

3.2 Bring Your Own API Key (BYO)

When you configure your own API keys, requests are sent directly from your device to the selected provider — they do not pass through our servers. Supported providers include:

• OpenRouter (openrouter.ai) — Multi-model text and image processing
• OpenAI (openai.com) — Chat models and DALL-E image generation
• Google AI (ai.google.dev) — Gemini and Imagen models
• x.ai (x.ai) — Grok text and image models
• fal.ai (fal.ai) — Image generation models
• Local Servers — Ollama, ComfyUI, Automatic1111, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Data stays on your local network.

3.3 Third-Party Privacy Policies

Each AI provider has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data you send to them. We encourage you to review these policies:

We do not control how these third parties process, store, or use your data.

4. Data Security

• All network communications between the app, our server, and AI providers use TLS/HTTPS encryption.
• API keys you provide are stored in the iOS Keychain, Apple's secure credential storage system.
• iCloud data is protected by Apple's end-to-end encryption.
• Our backend server does not persist prompt data or images beyond the duration of a single request.
• We do not have access to your BYO API keys at any time.

5. Data Retention

5.1 Local Data

Data stored on your device remains until you manually delete it within the app or uninstall TapPrompt. Uninstalling the app removes all local data.

5.2 iCloud Data

iCloud-synced data persists according to your Apple iCloud settings. You can delete it through Settings > Apple ID > iCloud on your device.

5.3 Server-Side Data

Our server retains only anonymous usage quota counters (e.g., credit usage counts). No prompt text, images, or personal data is stored on our servers.

5.4 Third-Party AI Providers

Data retention by third-party AI providers is governed by their respective privacy policies. We recommend reviewing each provider's policy for details.

6. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access & Portability — You can export all your prompts and templates using the app's built-in export feature (.tapprompt files).
• Deletion — Delete all local data by uninstalling the app. Delete iCloud data through iOS/macOS Settings. Contact us to request deletion of any server-side data.
• Control — You choose which AI provider to use, whether to enable iCloud sync, and whether to use built-in AI or your own API keys.
• Opt-Out — You can use TapPrompt's core features (editor, templates, library) without any AI features or network access.

7. Children's Privacy

TapPrompt is not directed at children under 13 years of age (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

8. International Data Transfers

When you use AI features, your data may be processed by servers located in different countries depending on the AI provider. By using these features, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations. All transfers are protected by HTTPS encryption.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, features, or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also provide notice within the app.
